Accidents on Interstate 35 between Robinson and Temple are problematic because few exits are open from mile marker 325 to mile marker 319 and the construction barriers trap drivers in the lanes with no way of avoiding them when an accident happens. On Sunday, an accident involving 18 vehicles tied up traffic for four to five hours.
It is believed that the accident occurred was a chain reaction caused by people following too closely, distracted and speeding.
Drivers exceeding the speed limit in areas where the barrier is on both sides and driving distracted are ongoing problems in TxDOT’s construction projects and are a major factor in many crashes.
If you or a loved one is involved in a car accident, call a personal injury attorney about the situation.
