Gerald Ray Villarrial has an important goal – to be remembered as someone who cared about people and changed lives through his skill as an attorney. He is a practical thinker who works hard. His family and his clients motivate him to come to work each day. Gerald Villarreal has practiced family law, criminal law, and civil litigation for over 20 years. Mr. Villarrial used to be a traveling musician, and he still likes to play to this day. When he is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five children, socializing with friends, and listening to a good band. He also enjoys watching his kids’ activities that include sports, music, and acting.

Gerald has lived in Waco his entire life. He graduated from Baylor University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and with a Juris Doctor degree from Baylor University School of Law in 1994. From December 1994 to December 1995, Gerald began his career as a staff attorney for the Heart of Texas Legal Aid, where he handled divorces and custody cases. From January 1995 to September 1999, Gerald worked for the law firm of Reyna & Reyna, P. C. as an associate attorney. While at Reyna & Reyna, P. C., Gerald handled cases involving family law, criminal law, and civil litigation. In October 1999, Gerald started his law firm, wherein he continued to handle cases involving family law, criminal law, and civil litigation. In 2008, Gerald merged the Villarrial Law Firm into the Zimmerman Law Firm and handled personal injury cases until March 2011. In April 2011, Gerald returned to solo practice and continued to practice law until joining the Dunnam & Dunnam, L.L.P. law firm as a partner. Gerald has worked extensively in the courtroom trying cases in bench trials as well as trials before a jury. Gerald also serves as an attorney and guardian ad litem representing children who have been abused and neglected and has been instrumental in helping hundreds of children.

Gerald is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association where he currently serves as treasurer. Gerald Villarrial is also involved in many civic activities, including serving on the board of the McLennan County Dispute Resolution Center, WISD Adopt A School Advisory Board, McLennan County Juvenile Advisory Board and as a board member of Alliance Bank Central Texas. Gerald is married to Jamie Villarrial, and together they have five children.
