A 25-year-old woman is in critical condition, and her 4-year-old son is in serious condition after a crash Thursday morning on Highway 84, Woodway police Chief Yost Zakhary said.
An officer with the Woodway Public Safety Department saw the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed before striking a utility pole and a tree shortly before noon in the 7000 block of Highway 84, Zakhary said.
Rescue officers found Brittani Beasley, of Granite Shoals, trapped in the vehicle. Beasley was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center with serious injuries. The 4-year-old was also transported with injuries.
Zakhary said Beasley was later transferred to Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple in critical condition, and her son was transferred to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas in serious condition.
