A Hill County man died in a Monday morning accident on State Highway 171 about 10 a.m., just west of Bynum, officials said.
James Robert Helms, 47, of Malone, was driving west in a 2008 Ford Focus when he collided with an eastbound tractor-trailer pulling a mobile home, said Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper D.L. Wilson.
Wilson said Helms was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Brad Henley, and an autopsy was ordered.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured in the accident, Wilson said.
An investigation is ongoing to determine what caused the accident. Helms was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, he said.
If a loved one is killed in a truck accident like this one, you may have a wrongful death lawsuit. It is important that a Waco personal injury attorney is contacted as soon as possible to discuss the legal situation involved.
